Shampooing your hair as least often as possible in cooler water will help preserve your color. Be sure to use a shampoo line that in safe for demi permanent color! Color safe shampoo usually means safe for permanent color, we are looking to protect a demi permanent!

-Replace your conditioner with a hair masque during every wash.
-Use professional brands that won't cause build up
-Sleep on a silk pillowcase or in a silk bonnet, and use a protective night serum
-Brush your hair gently, from bottom to top, with a wet brush or a brush with flexible bristles
-When wearing your hair up, choose looser styles and opt for a soft silky scrunchy over a tight hair tie.

To apply, shampoo your hair as usual, Towel dry well. Flip your head upside down, and apply to desired areas. High Saturation is important to ensure even color. Clip to head and wait between 20 and 40 minutes. More pastel shades need to sit longer to fully saturate. Rinse in cold water until all the product is gone, then condition and rinse again.
For more vibrant pigment, apply vaseline to the hairline to avoid staining.
If your go-to hairstyle requires starting with wet hair, it is much better to wet your hair down with cold water, or condition and rince, then it is to fully shampoo the hair.
If You are looking from going to change from one color to another, Fading your hair will help the process. Shampooing your hair with a clarifying shampoo and warm water for up to a month before your scheduled appointment is recommended. The more pigmented your shade, the longer it will take to fade.
Still follow all hair health instructions while trying to fade the color to maintain healthy strands.

Any time we do an intensive color session, it is heavily recommended that you replace your conditioner completely for a mask. Masks are heavier, and replace proteins and other nutrients in the hair, whereas conditioners are only meant o replace oils.
Toning your hair at home has the same risk involved as any at home color. If you need toning upkeep, book a short appointment between your blonding visits.

When we bleach hair, we are left with the last bit of raw pigment left ofer, which when we bleach to blonde is anywhere from a light shade of orange to a light shade of yellow.
For pigmented shampoos to work, the hair must already have been lightened with bleach. pigmented shampoos are meant to aid in toning, making the hair appear brighter, but it will not lighten the hair.
In basic color theory, we use purple to neutralize yellow, and blue to neutralize orange.
Using a shampoo with purple or blue pigment can keep the hair from looking brassy.
It is important to know what colors you are trying to neutralize, ask your hairstylist what they recommend.
Pigmented shampoo is not meant to clean the hair, it is meant to help tone.
When you are start your wash, first shampoo with a high quality, moisturizing shampoo from a professional line. Once that is fully rinsed out apply a generous amount of the pigmented shampoo, making sure to evenly spread from roots to ends. let it sit in your hair for five to ten minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
Apply mask as usual.
Pigmented Shampoo can also be very drying, because it is intentionally causing buildup in the hair. It Is meant to be used around once a month, but ask your hairstylist how frequently it could be right for you.

For platinum shades and very bright blondes, it is important to occasionally use a clarifying shampoo. Build up of any kind can make very bright and cool tone blondes feel dull or yellowed. Usually a clarifying wash once every other month is good to prevent this.
When using hot tools, always use a cream, oil, or serum based heat protectant. Make sure your tools are at 350 degrees or lower.

If your permanent color is accompanied by blonde or fashion color, adjust your hair care routine to prioritize protecting those as they are more susceptible to fade and damage.
Keep hot tools below 375 degrees and always use a heat protectant in your hair to avoid fade and protect hair health.
For some Permanent colors meant to look extraordinarily vibrant, using a fashion color overlay can push Pigment to the extra level. This is especially helpful for orange and gold forward reds. Permanent color can be used to cover grey hair completely. It is important to note that though we are able to ad pigment back into the hair, we still need to be treating the newly covered greys with extra moisture and shine to reach the full potential of hear that looks and feels healthy.
